Mitsubishi Repair: Service Engine Soon light went on..., service engine soon light, autozone

My car got towed and after I got my car back, I noticed the service engine light went on.  The engine made a little noise and I've been driving it since.  The engine no longer makes any noise, and the engine light is still on??? I don't notice any difference in how it is driving, do you think there could be something really wrong internally??

Yasmina:You need to have your car coded, AutoZone will do it for free. You have a sensor out someplace and the computer has picked up on that. So the check engine light is on. Sure you can drive the car with that on, but with time whatever sensor or sensors are out; will cause problems. So have that checked and then replace the sensor/sensors. If you do not have a AutoZone close by, most shops will do this for you too but with a cost. What they do is hook your car's computer up to their computer, it reads the codes and tells you what is wrong. Could be you have got use to the sounds it makes and just do not hear that noise anymore. But you should have it checked. Hope this helps and good luck!
