Mitsubishi Repair: 1997 mistubishi eclipse high idle, auto zone, egr valve

Hey there.  My 1997 eclipse is idling high.  I have changed the egr valve, and the gasket, and the spark plugs. . . . i have even messed with the idle needle.  And also, when i put the car in gear, it kinda jumps like it just wants to take off right then. I was thinking that would go away when the idle goes away, but I know nothing about cars so i was hoping that you could help cause i am out of ideas.

It could be a few things. My first suggestion would be the idle is set too high and needs to be adjusted. It could also be the idle speed control or the idle air control. I would suggest first, if you have an Auto Zone close by, you have them scan, or code, your vehicle. They'll do this for free and it will test all of your sensors and your ECU. That will at least give you and initial idea with no cost. After that you should probably seek some professional advice.
