Mitsubishi Repair: 95 Eclipse N/turbo timing crankshaft, timing belt, crankshaft

Question
My Eclipse, same everything as Linda's. I replaced the thermostat, water pump, battery, and alternator.  I'm stuck on the timing belt.  I can not get the crankshaft aligned. Also, starter wants to start when battery is connected and key doesn't even need to be in the ignition.  Pease help with troubleshooting. I can't afford to take it to a shop so I'm doing the work myself. These problems existed when I purchased the car, so I know it wasn't caused by me under the hood.  Thank you for any responses. Merry Christmas!

Answer
Angela: You have a short in your starting circuit as to the starting running when you hook up the battery. As for the timing belt, there is marks that you really have to look for to find. And the belt has to be set on them or to them. You need to go to a parts store and get a (repair manual) for your car. It will walk you through all this and more. I like Haynes, the manual will cost around $20.00 but well worth the money. There will be pictures and how do do things in that manual. It is for the person that wants to do the work the car themselfs. Hope this helps and good luck!
