Mitsubishi Repair: 95 eagle summit, fuel pump relay, cylinoid

Question
My mini van drives ok for the first 20 minutes or so, then when I go to brake to stop it chugs up and stalls out. My husband replaced a cylinoid (?) and checked to see if the torque convertor was sticking..no luck. It's like it's having a seizure, but after it dies it always starts back up and sometimes won't do it again the rest of the time I'm out, other times it stalls at every stop. I can put it into neutral and coast to a stop, but when I drop it back in gear, it will still die.....HELP!!

Answer
Janey: Is the check engine light on? Sounds like a sensor to me or one that is getting weak. When is the last time it has a tune up? Can you hear the fuel pump when it is having troubles? Do you running it down to "E" before you fill it up. And I sure understand that if you do, because of the cost of fuel. But believe it or not the fuel is what keeps the fuel pump cool. So could be your fuel pump needs to be replaced. You need to get your husband to go buy a repair manual for your mini van, can get one at any parts store for around $20.00. It should give you some checks as to what to check and how to do it. Could be the fuel pump relay too. But you need that repair manual. Hope this helps and good luck!
