Mitsubishi Repair: REPAIR, soft face hammer, crankshaft pulley

Question
I'M WORKING ON 1991 MITSUBISHI PICK UP WITH 2.4 ENGINE. I'M HAVING HARD TIME REMOVING THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY BOLT. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTION OR INSTRUCTION WHICH WAY DO I TURN THE BOLT. PLEASE HELP ME OUT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH...

Answer
Edgar: You must loosen the main bearing cap bolts 1/4-turn at a time each, until they can be removed by hand. Gently tap the caps with a soft-face hammer, then separate them from the egnine block. If necessary, use the bolts as levers to remove the caps. Try not to drop the bearing inserts if they come with the caps. Then carefully lift the crankshaft out the engine. But have help it will be very heavy. You always turn a bolt or nut to the left to loosen. You need to go to a parts store and buy a manual for your 1991 Mitsubishi. It will help walk you through things and explain things you do not understand. I like Haynes the best. Hope this helps and good luck!
