Mitsubishi Repair: my car, throttle position sensor, speed controller

Question
I have a 1999 galant and every so often when I get ready to stop it will kind of at like it's losing power or it wnats to cut off could that be my timing or some thing else.Thank you

Answer
R-shod,
It's possible that it's your timing, and if you haven't had your timing belt replaced within the last 60,000 miles, it's a good idea to do so.

Common causes of the problem you're experiencing can also be due to any of the following:
Clogged air filter
Clogged fuel filter
Dirty throttle body
Leaky intake system
Weak fuel pump
Bad fuel injector
Malfunctioning ignition component (spark plug, plug wire, distributor, coil, etc.)
Malfunctioning intake conponment (throttle position sensor, idle speed controller, etc)

Your car may just need a tune-up to get it running properly again.  Have your mechanic inspect it for further diagnosis.
Good luck!
