Questioni have a 95 eclipse and it sputters in 3rd,4th,and 5th gear when the rpms reach 2500 then it snaps out of it when it reaches 4000 rpm. I have changed plugs, plug wires, coil pack, fuel filter, air filter, and o2 sensors,there is no check engine light. do u have any ideas what could be wrong please let me know?
AnswerDustyn: Sounds like a vacuum leak to me, but my book says it could be one of many things. I shall give you an idea... incorrect ignition timing, excessive play in distributor shaft, incorrectly gapped spark plugs, fuel injection system out of adjustment or excessively worn, automatic transaxle fluid level incorrect, emission control system not functioning properly, low or uneven cylinder compression pressures and obstructed exhaust system.
