rite...btw there are no modifications to the motor
any help would be very much apprceiated

Answer
Gary: From my reading, the engine must be warmed up at normal operating temperature and battery must be fully charged for the doing an compression check. You can get codes well readings using a voltmeter. But you need a car manual for your car, it will explain how to do this and what reading you should be getting. With oil getting into places on your engine, it could be so many things. If you did shut the engine off as soon as you saw the oil light, that is a good thing. Other wise it could have got hot enough to blow the head gasket. To check for those sensors you are to have the ignition key on but the engine is not to be running. You say you have no stark, so work your way back. You need to check your distributor cap, rotor,  ignition coil even your battery. Could try cleaning all that oil off your engine. Are the belts slipping and so not turning the engine over fast enough. Look I am just throwing out ideas here. If there is a problem in the line well in your engine, you could not clear it off the computer. As the computer will not forget till it is fixed. It is almost harder to get the computer to clear than not. Think about the car for a minute, you were on the gas, the bolt came loose, filter got loose and your car started to loose oil. So the pressure is going down, the oil is blowing on the hot engine and all hell is breaking loose. You see the light, pull off and shut off. So you could have oil in places that you never thought could happen. So trying cleaning the engine. Cover the distributor cap and coil but also the alternator. Clean the oil off but then maybe you have done this. Don't know. I always try the easy things and then go to the harder one. So you have no stark, what brings the stark to the plugs? I will have to check about the 1999 2.0 liter turbo being an Chrysler product and will try to get back to you as soon as I can. For right now I would not think so much about sensors as much as try to find out why you have no stark. Mean while get that manual for your car, read it and then you will know your car inside too. You can get a manual at any parts store. Hope this helps and good luck!
