Car speedometer stopped working and car stalls at idol. Any ideas?

Scott: The cable has broken or come unhooked is why the speedometer does not work. The stalling would be another problem nothing to do with the speedometer. I would say you have a sensor that is weak that tells the computer what is going on with the car. So the computer thinks all is ok, so now your car is not getting enough fuel/air mix and so it can not run right. Have your sensors checked, if you have an AutoZone close they will check your car for free. Other wise take it to a shop. Could be other things too. Need to clean it good or just get it set. So you should go to a shop someplease. Besure to buy a repair manual on your car, can get that at any parts store. It will explain what might be wrong with your car, walk you through how to fix it and then it also has pictures. That really helps me at times, the pictures. Hope this helps and good luck!
