Mitsubishi Repair: 97 Mits Montero LS problems, valve cover, crazy things

Question
I have been trying to find a repair manual for some time. And the only results that I can come up with is the manual from Mitsubishi, Spendy! Can any one tell me why Haynes or Chilton's does not have a manual for this model?

On another note I continue to have oil leeks coming from the rear of the engine. I have replaced the valve cover gaskets hoping that would fix the problem but it did not. I can't see where it is leaking from even with a mechanics mirror.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!!!

Kirk: The Montero is a nice looking Mits, I had to go up on line and check it out. If you can not find a manual for it, you could check with your library. The have them, some will let you check them out others won't but you could get copies made. Sometimes you have to hunt for that manual, tried ebay. Don't laugh I have got some pretty crazy things up there. But anyway, I would say you need to think about how an engine runs. Try cleaning the engine up and then take it for a drive. Then check to see if there is oil, it has to be running from someplace. I wish I could be better help for you. I know I had a car once, it took over a year but I finely did find the leak. The leak was up on the top of the engine but was running over the top of the engine, to the back and then all the way to the bottom of it. So I had to about pull my hair out but I did find it. So keep looking you shall find it. One thing is do you useing a lot of oil or just a bit? Once you clean the engine up, maybe if you started the car and warmed it. A friend might be able to see where it is coming from. Hope this helps and good luck.
