Mitsubishi Repair: L200 Gearshift Problem, easy job, right tools

I have a '93 L200 Dbl/Cab that has suddenly developed a problem where by 2nd gear is almost unobtainable when selecting. If I move the stick to the left as I slide it back I may find it. Else moving the stick back normally it the stick goes nearly back to the seat and does not find the gear. All other gears are okay. Is this something that I maybe able to fix myself, or is it something that only an expert should attempt. Cheers

Phil: I think I would have an expert check this one out in a shop. It will not be an easy job and best left to someone that does this for a living. Not that I am saying you could not handle it if you have a garage, good set of jack stands, all the right tools, the time and a book or two on repairing. Hope this helps and good luck!
