Mitsubishi Repair: Acceleration, air flow sensor, vacuum leaks

Question
I really think my problem is more serious that you have suggested. Although I appreciate anything that is suggested.  My follow up question is: If the Volume Air Flow Sensor were malfunctioning; would that have the symptom of no acceleration when engine is at idle when the accelerator is depressed?

-----Question-----
I have a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse.  It will not accelerate at all.  Will start and idle but that it.  I have checked the ECM using an analog meter as shown in a repair manual.  The only problem that it shows is a bad temperature sensor.  I wonder in you might be able to give me some where else to look for problems.
-----Answer-----
Charlie: You said a temperature sensor is out but which one? You have two, Intake Air temperature and Engine Coolant temperature Sensors, both very important to get that car down the road. But when is the last time you did a tune up? If your plugs, wires, distributor and rotor are dirty or old, the car would have enough power to start just not go anywhere. How about your injectors? Takes three things for a car to go down the road, stark, fuel and air. Should have your fuel pump checked it might not be putting out enough fuel. Hope this helps and good luck!

Answer
Charlie: I use a book and work on cars. So my book says this to engine lacks power, incorrect ignition timing, excessive pay in distributor shaft, worn rotor,  worn distributor cap,  worn wires, faulty or incorrectly gapped plugs, fuel injection system out of adjustment or excessively worn, faulty coil, fuel filter clogged or impurities in the fuel system, emission control system not funcioning properly, low or uneven cylinder compression pressures, obstructed exhaust system and vacuum leaks. So pick one, I put in some of what the book said. I always check my books, I have Haynes, Chilton's Engine Code Manual and Chilton's import car book. Or I asked friends and family members. Sometimes we want an easy answer but with cars there is hardly ever a easy answer unless it is a bulb out or something. I only try to help people but I can not always do this. Hope this helps and good luck!
