Mitsubishi Repair: AM/FM/CD and speakers dont work, factory radios, stereo shop

Question
1995 Montero, manual transmission, 150K miles. Last weekend my am/fm/cd player all worked fine, but today I got in the car and the entire system did not work. The radio did turn on and searched for channels, but was unable to find any stations that I've been able to get for years. The cd player doesn't work, but it does try to play the cd's. My speakers don't even play static when on a station the car cannot pick up. The car was not used the entire week but it has been warm and humid and rather rainy the past few days, but the car has never acted so strangely. Please let me know if you have any idea what could be going wrong.

Answer
Jason,
There is a good possibility your radio just died.  It's not the most common occurance, but I've seen it happen on a number of factory radios.  Your easiest and cheapest option would be to take your car to an auto stereo shop (a place like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.) and they will be able to provide you with a variety of radios and be able to install it for you.
Good luck!
