Mitsubishi Repair: Daimante horn problem, rain storm, electrical problem

Question
1997 diamante ls

Horn does not work (fuse appears OK).  This seems to happen at a time after the car did not turn over a few times, but eventually did turn over without having to jump.  However, the clock was reset indicating that there had been some apparent electrical problem.

Only the horn seems to be the one thing that doesn't work - no further problems after this.  Is there anything I can check?  Did this somehow short out the electrical system briefly to cause the car to reset?

Thanks.

Answer
John,
The apparent electrical problem you experienced may have blown your horn switch, located on your steering wheel.  This switch is not the easiest item to check, much less replace, so you may want to have a mechanic do it.

If you noticed this whole thing started after a large rain storm or after driving through any large puddles, this could have shorted out the horn itself, and caused the starting problem.  It would be best to have a mechanic inspect your horn and switch to see if the problem can be resolved easily.
Good luck!
