Mitsubishi Repair: galant alarm malfunction, mitsubishi dealership, turning the key

i have a 2001 galant automatic 2.4l  that i cant get to turn off the alarm after the battery died i would like to keep the alarm functional for security but cant get it to turn off period

Your owners manual may indicate how to disarm the alarm system, if this is a factory alarm that came with the car.  Sometimes just putting the key in the driverside door and unlock it, it can disabled the alarm.  Other times turning the key in the ignition in a certain sequence will disable it.  I'm not familiar with the factory alarm in that car, so I can't be sure.  But your manual may give you another procedure.  You can always contact the service department at your local Mitsubishi dealership and ask.  It can't hurt to ask.
