Mitsubishi Repair: 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0 DOHC nonturbo, mitsubishi eclipse, injector cleaner

Question
My son currently has this car at a dealership.  The symptoms have been getting worst over the past month.  It starting stalling at any speed and sometimes at traffic lights.  As time went on the distance you would get got closer to home.  Before taking it to the shop it was only making it 1/2 mile from the house and you would have to sit for 10-15 minutes before it would start again.  Replaced catalytic converter.  Repair shop can't figure out what is wrong.  Possible ecu or wire harness they are saying but not sure?  Before having these symptoms my son almost ran the gas tank empty, could it possibly be fuel pump or filter?  Appreciate any suggestions.

Answer
ANY ENGINE LIGHTS?? This is a hard thing to diagnose...It sounds like an electrical problem to me, but very well could be a fuel problem. Try running some gas system cleaner from auto zone (LUCAS INJECTOR CLEANER IS THE BEST) and if its giving you engine codes you can read the codes your self using the web site below!! DONT PAY FOR DIAGNOSES!! These codes can help you pinpoint problems...If the shop is telling you they dont know, its most likely a electrical problem..
