Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi electrical problems, galant gs, mitsubishi galant

I have a 1994 mitsubishi galant gs dohc that runs fine.  However, I have a ground problem(s) and do not know where to look.  The headlights will not come on unless the ignition is in the on position, the power locks activate at will, and the interior lights only come on from the left rear door.  What should I check?  The car was this way when I bought it.  Thank you for your help.

Electrical problems are tricky Clyde. You might want to get a ground kit. But at the same time this could very well be one short that causes all these things to happen..The best start is to troubleshoot with a test light, check ALL fuses...But to tell you the truth Clyde if you dont have experience in electrical work it can turn out to be a BIGGER HEADACHE!! If you have any engine lights coming on.. run a scan on the ecu, this might help pinpoint problems...If you took it to a shop it would cost you about $100-150 for the electrical check and troubleshoot. Most repair places have a tech there that specializes in electrical work!
