Mitsubishi Repair: used car starter rigged, push button switch, mitsubishi galant

Question
I just got a 1995 mitsubishi galant s with the 2.4 liter SOHC. To start the car you have to pressed a button somebody made while the key is in the ON position. There are 2 wires going to this push button switch: 1 from the battery and one to the solenoid.  When I turn the key to start and dont push the button, I can hear the relay click ( I think its under the dash haynes says its under the hood: could not find afer 2 hours) and the starter does not turn. The only thing I can think of is a wire from the relay to the solenoid could be bad. Thanks!

Answer
Test your starter at auto zone and check wires first with a test light!! You might have blown the relay... since its rigged something could have shorted out..This is a good question!! Electrical work  can be tricky some time, plus being rigged..Keep troubleshooting im sure you'll find the reason! If your hearing a click it means your not getting fire somewhere...Check battery also,Im not sure on a 95 galant where the relay is but most relays are under the hood! Do you have any engine lights coming on?? If you do run a free scan at Auto zone! This may help you in pin pointing problem!!

Good luck
