Mitsubishi Repair: 1994 Talon Speedometer cable replacement, speedometer needle, speedometer drive

Question
Hi Anthony. I have a 1994 Talon 2.4L (replaced 4g63 with a 4g64) ES Auto and was wondering how do I use the same ends on the speedometer cable to fit on a new cable. There's the  end that hooks into the backside of the tranny, and the end that spins the speedometer needle. Is there a way to just replace the cable and use the same ends?

Also, where is the TCU located on the tranny? Thanks a bunch.

Answer
John,
The TCU in a 1994 Eclipse is located under/behind the radio.  I believe it's on the floor.

I'm really not familiar with the differences between the speedometer drive gears for the tranny on a 2.0L compared to that of a 2.4L.  You may have luck if you visit the parts & service department of your local Mitsubishi dealership and ask if they could be more assistance.
Good luck!
