Mitsubishi Repair: oil pressure switch, engine oil pressure, mitsubishi dealership

Question
My son and I have been rebuilding a 1995 Eclipse 2.o non-turbo RS,5 speed manual, vin# a3ak34y7se155812. Due to time constraints it has taken us about 10 months. We went to install the oil pressure switch and realize there must be a bracket or something that is missing in order to install it but don't remember. Are we correct and if so where could I find that part? This is the only thing that is keeping us from completing the engine so any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Steve,
First off, your VIN starts with the number 4 ;-)

Your engine oil pressure switch should simply screw into your oil filter bracket (the brack the oil filter screws into) and it points towards the front of the car.  There is a single eletrical cable that connects to it.  The part number is M05269558, and is available at the dealership.  There was a particular Eclipse engine where the oil pressure switch is located on the back of the engine block, but I believe yours is on oil filter bracket.  You can visit your locate Mitsubishi dealership parts department to order the switch and they can even verifiy exactly where that switch is located.
Good luck!
