Mitsubishi Repair: Transmission., mitsubishi eclipse gs, automatic tranny

I was wondering if in your opinion, it would be worth it to try and get the parts cheaply, and switch out an automatic tranny, for a 5 speed transmission, or a 6 if I could come across it, on a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS  And as best a guess you would have as to the cost of such a thing.  Thank you.

I would not recommend trying to do a tranny swap.  Not only would the parts cost more than actual car itself, but the amount of time, extra money, and possible problems that could arise would make you want to sell the car even if you got it to work.  So best guess as to a ballpark cost would be around $2000, and I couldn't even put a price on the amount of time and headaches it would cause.
