Mitsubishi Repair: 94 Mirage Headlamp Relay, salvage yard, highbeams
QuestionI have a 94 Mirage ES Coupe with an Auto and the 1.5L motor. I have no headlights. However, I do have power to the relay. If I jump the relay I can make the headlights work. However, when I jump the relay the lights stay on whether the light switch is off or on. I have put a new relay in, but it did not fix the problem. Could it be a bad relay or is it possible the switch is bad. Any suggestions? Thanks - Nick
AnswerNick,
If even the new relay did not fix your problem, then I would guess the problem is in your headlight switch. You should also test to see if the highbeams are effected as well, if you haven't already.
A new switch from the dealership will probably run you anywhere from $70-$86. That's not too bad if you're willing to install it yourself. Otherwise, you may be able to find a discount on a used switch from a salvage yard or even on ebay.
Good luck!
