Mitsubishi Repair: battery drain, mitsubishi eclipse, battery cable


Question
i have  a 92 mitsubishi eclipse 1.8 neew alternator and battery the battery will drain overnight i have checked all the fuses when we pulled the fuse for the mfi located at the hot terminal on the battery cable the drain goes away what would the problem be please let me know thanks in advance homer

Homer,
The MFI fuse controls power that goes to the fuel system and ignition system.  That narrows it a bit, but that still leaves many items to check.  I would first start at the alternator to be sure it's properly grounded.  Also check your battery cable connections on your starter motor.  

The starter and the alternator locations are the areas where a short can cause rapid discharge of the battery, but there are many more areas that can leak power.  Have all areas checked near where any work was done on the car.  It's easy enough to knock something loose that can cause a short.
