Mitsubishi Repair: 99 galant 3.0L stalls cold, water remover, foot on the gas

Question
I have a friends 99 galant es ,auto w/ a 3.0l engine that seems to stall after a cold start or will not fire untill you put you foot on the gas.I have scanned the computer to inspect coolant ,air intake sensors and iac position, all seem to be good.after the vehicle warms up the car runs 110%. I recently did a timing belt (the second) and a complete tune up (plugs, wires, cap/rotor, plenum gasket) using all mitsubishi parts. I inspected the intake for vacumn leaks (was pulled to tune up)and all other sources for vacumn leaks but none were found. I even removed the iac motor ,cleaned all passages and still this morning, i went to start the vehicle, cranks over fine , but starts/stalls or no start at all. after the vehicle begins to run ok , i can drive the car for a few blocks, come to a stop and the car will stall. the iac motor position is about 90-100 during a cold start(25-30 deg)and is at around 65 fully warmed up and running at 700-800 rpm. I am stumped, please help!

Answer
Chris,
If the engine is cranking over strong, and you have a good spark, I would guess there is a fuel supply issue.  You should check your fuel pump to be sure it supplying enough fuel pressure on cold starts.  You may be getting significant amounts of water accumulation in the fuel tank when you let the car sit over night; especially if it's parked outside.  You should add a bottle of water-remover each time you fill up your tank.  Keep at least half a tank of fuel in your car throughout the winter.  Replace your fuel filter if that wasn't part of your tune-up.  See if that helps with your problem.
Good luck!
