Mitsubishi Repair: Adjusting the TPS sencer, chiltons manual, auto parts stores

Question
Mr Falcone,
I have been reading your responces for several years now and,,,your EXCELLENT!! I just want to thank you for all that you do...

Now to get to my problem. I have a 1990 1G
Eclipse 1.8ltr automatic made before 05/1990.
With 188,976 miles on it.
VIN # 4A3CS34TXLE013324

ECM replaced 1 yr ago
Timming belt 2 yr ago
Balance belt 2 yr ago
H2O pump and seals 2 yr ago
Rear Crank Seal 1 yr ago

I had a code for the TPS show up,,,, so I replaced it and the O2 Sensor too, because on these cars you can never tell when O2 senser starts to fail as the ECM dosn't tell you.

Now I put the new TPS in the same position as the old one, drove the car with No Codes present Now.. But now the car feels like it's holding back alittle bit in performance. Do I need to adjust the TPS? If I do how do I do that?
Is ther a web sight that tell you?

Or is it just the car is running like it's supposed to now that the TPS is new and trouble free?

This little car is a GREAT and Very DEPENDABLE car. I can't say enough great things about it. Mit's broke the mold when they made this car!! the 1.8 is a work horse in my book and Excellent MPH too!! But I have not checked it since the new TPS & O2 has been on.

Thanks Alot for your time

Answer
Waine,
There are several websites that offer advise for your car.  Here's one:
http://www.vfaq.com

This site typically offers help to 2.0L and turbo engines, but you can use a lot of that info for your own car.  I have a reference on my own site you can use for your car checking and adjusting your TPS:

I would recommend you also get a service manual for your car which should have a procedure to check the most common components on your car.  Most auto parts stores will sell a Haynes or Chiltons manual for your car.

If your car is running and idling well, I would think everything is ok.  But you can always give your throttle body a good cleaning, and change out your air filter and fuel filter.  Adjust your accelerator cable and add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner every couple of fill ups.  You may notice a little power increase.
Good luck!
