Mitsubishi Repair: Car will not start, vehicle immobiliser, battery cables

Question
97 Mirage

The Mirage shows no sign of life.  I replaced the battery a few days ago, however today  no lights what-so-ever show.  I think the vehicle immobiliser was enabled somehow.  If so, how do I disenable?  Please help.

Answer
Peteris,
A car immobilizer can only be disarmed when the factory key is inserted into the ignition and turned.  But if you were able to start the car after the battery was first replaced, than it may indicate that your alterantor is no longer able to charge the battery.  The battery will quickly die if it is doing all the work to keep your car running.  You should also have your battery cables checked to be sure they are providing good contact.

If need be, have your car towed to a mechanic to inspect your starter and your entire ignition system.
Good luck!
