Mitsubishi Repair: Mirage 02 Emergency brake light is on, brake fluid reservoir, mitsubishi mirage

My emergency brake light on Mitsubishi Mirage DE Coupe 2002 has come on and I can't figure how to get it to turn off.  Trying to pull and release the emergency brake has no effect on it.  I never have used the emergency brake either so I am unsure how this came about.

This is a common occurance when your brake fluid is too low.  You can look in your owners manual and it will tell you where your brake fluid reservoir is located, and it will tell you the type of fluid you should use to top it off; usually its DOT3 Brake Fluid, which you can buy at just about any convenience store.  But the brake fluid reservoir is usually located on the firewall, under the hood, on the drivers side.  The cap should indicate 'Brake Fluid' and will tell you the type of fluid to use.  You should fill up the fluid level to the MAX line on the reservoir.

If topping off the fluid level does not make the brake light turn off, you should have your car inspected by a mechanic.
