Mitsubishi Repair: 1999 Galant power door locks, mitsubishi galant, fuse box

Question
My daughter has a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant.  The power door locks will not work.  My son-in-law has tried looking at the fuses and removing the door panel and checking the wiring.  We have not been able to locate the problem.  Can you tell me where the relay would be located to the locks or anything else that may be causing the locks not to work?

Thank you for your help!!!

Answer
Amy,
I'm not too familiar with these models of Galants, but I'll give it a shot.  There is a relay located near/under the steering column and another under the hood on the drivers side.  The one under the hood should be labeled.  I don't believe it has it's own fuse, so it's probably on a multifuse either under your steering column, or in the fuse box under the hood.

There's also a possibility that the lock switch itself is broken.  Depending on how it's wired, if either the passenger side or drivers side switch is broken, that can prevent the power locks from working on either side.  Check those items and hopefully you'll find the problem.
Good luck!
