Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 eclipse gs 2.4, clutch assemblies, eclipse gs

hi

i bought the above new in 2000, and when i returned to england i brought it back with me. i suspect that it is the only one in great britain which gives it a certain unique cache, but is hell when trying to repair or get it approved to drive opn british roads.

anyway my current problem is that i have a slipping clutch, which may also be compounded by suspect hydrolics ( master or slave).

needless to say, there is no one over here who will hold eclipse spares, but i was wondering whether the clutch and cylinders were common to other mitshubishi models such as the 3000gt, gto fto or lancer. if so the repair may be possible at a price slightly less than its residual value.  your help and knowledge will be gratefully received.

I'm not familiar with the models that Mitsubishi sells in the UK, but I would guess there would be model sold there that has matching clutch assemblies and cylinders.  Your best bet would be to inquire at your local dealership and have them look up car in their parts database.  Their databases will be able to cross reference your car with other possible models, which they stock parts for.  If anything, you could always order the parts you need from the States and have them shipped to you if your local dealerships are no help.
