Mitsubishi Repair: Coolant drain plug location on 6G72 V6, mitsubishi magna, drain plugs

Question
Hi Anthony,

I have a '95 Mitsubishi Magna (aka Diamante in some countries) with 6G72 3.0l 12 Valve SOHC engine and automatic transmission.

My car seems to take a long time to get up to correct operating temp - maybe after 10 minutes of driving. I'm thinking the thermostat might be stuck open so I'm going to replace it. I'm also going to replace the coolant with nice new stuff. The manuals I've referenced all state that as part of the process, the coolant needs to be drained from the engine block by removing the coolant drain plug on the engine block. My question is; where is the coolant drain plug on the engine block on the 6G72 V6?

Answer
Peter,
The drain plugs are usually located on the bottom of the engine.  In some cars, even the owners manual may show where the plugs are on your particular engine.  Typically there are at least two plugs, and are at the front and rear of the engine.  Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with the exact location of the plugs on your engine, but you may be able to find them once you're under the car.
Good luck!
