Mitsubishi Repair: 97 Galant starting problem, battery cables, starter motor

Question
Hi Anthony
here is my problem, I have a 1997 Galant and when I try to start the car sometimes it fails to start. The starter will not even try to engage, but then if  I wait a second it will start just fine on the second or third try without any hesitaion at all.

Answer
Keyran,
This is typically caused by a faulty starter motor and/or poor connection from the starter motor to the battery.  Have the battery and battery cables checked for any wear or corrosion.  If the battery and cables appear fine, then you should have your starter replaced.
Good luck!
