Mitsubishi Repair: Rolling noise, rear wheel bearings, cv joints

Question
HELP!!    2001 Mirage ES roaring noise starting around 30mph and gets worse with higher speed.  Slight pressure on the sterring wheel to the left will make the noise go away.  Slight pressure to the right makes it worse.  I have rotated the tires, replaced both front and rear wheel bearings on the right side.  Shot grease into the front wheel bearing on the left side.  Nothing had made any difference.  The CV joints feel tight and the boots are intact and dry.  It has an auto trans and a 1.8 engine.  The vehicle has not had any front end damage.

Answer
Bob,
It's possible your power steering pump is low on fluid, or perhaps your power steering belt is too tight.  If you didn't check them already, inspect your front brakes and pads.  Most brake pads have wear indicators that make a grinding or squealing noise when the pads wear down.  Check those items and see if you need a brake job.
Good luck!
