Mitsubishi Repair: 01 eclipse sportronic transmision problem, speedometer cable, hydraulic clutch

Question
I have an 01 Eclipse 2.4L, automatic(sportronic),  recently tit was heating up and i fixed the problem. But now when i started My car will start on the 2nd gear and only shifts up to 3rd gear(It wont take 1st either) and also jerks when i shift it, and the Neutral light starts blinking.  They put the code at pep boys to turn off the service engine light and the car worked ok for like a minute then it droppped to 2nd gear again, Imm thinking it could be the hydraulic clutch or something , what do u think? They also gave me this code for a bad sensor P0715.

Answer
Julio,
The code P0715 refers to your speed sensor circuit, which I believe refers to your speedometer cable.  Your speedometer cable is attached to your transmission, and if that speed sensor circuit is malfuncitoning, that could be causing your transmission problems.  Your car shifts depending on your RPMs and your car's speed.  If your car's computer is not receiving a good signal from your speedometer circuit, it will make a best-guess as to what gear to put your transmission into.

PepBoys is a great place to get a good deal on new tires, but I would recommend another place to have your car repaired.  For something as complicated as your transmission, I would suggest you take your car to a transmission shop or the dealership to have this fixed.  It may cost a little more than PepBoys, but it'll get done correctly the first time.
Good luck!
