Mitsubishi Repair: check engine light, negative battery cable, auto zone

Question
Autozone ran a check on my 98 eclipse to see why my check engine light was on. He said the problem was my air temperature sensor. I replaced this sensor but my light is still on. Do I have to reset the computer or is their something else that could be wrong?

Answer
Robert,
You can reset your car's computer easy enough by removing your negative battery cable for about 30 seconds, then re-attach it.  Start your car, and see if the check engine light (CEL) comes back on.  If the CEL stays off, you're all set, but if it comes back on, you may be able to diagnose the car yourself.  This web page shows how you should be able to diagnose the CEL yourself:

The codes you find yourself from the procedure mentioned in that web page will be more acturate than even the Auto Zone code reader.
Good luck!
