Mitsubishi Repair: 93 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0 or 1.8 automatic, mitsubishi eclipse, battery check

Question
hi, i have a problem and i have absolutely no clue what it could be, when i drive my car, i will hear a click behind my dash and the rpm's will drop to 0, it will stay like this for a few seconds, then i will hear the click again and the rpm's will jump to wherever it should be in correspondance to the gas pedal, sometimes when im breaking or stopped my car will stall out, when this happens nothing else is affected, the lights dont dim or anything, what do you think it could be?

Answer
Timmy,
You may be having a problem with your car's computer.  Read this article for further information:

That clicking noise you're hearing may be your ECU resetting itself automatically.  Your ECU should never reset while your car is running; only after you turn your car off or remove your battery.

Check that first before you spend money on a mechanic to sell you parts and service that you may not even need.
Good luck!
