Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 mitsubishi eclipse GT stick shift 2.4, mitsubishi eclipse gt, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
i drive a 2000 mits eclipse i had bought it used it has 111,000 miles on it when i bought it it had 80,000 miles on it.  it is a good running car but there are some things that im a little concerned about first of all my head lights have this film over it and i cant get it off and i dont want to spend 200.00 dollars on one head light is there anyway to get it off or will i have to get a new head light. and another question when i turn on my headlights the driver side headlight will not cut on but when i just bearly hit it it cuts on i had checked the wires and they all seen fine do i need a new headlight. and another question my sunroof when i open it, it hops i mean it like seems like its getting stuck i had greased it up but it does not work.  and another sometimes my car will have this weird smell it smells like firecrakers it is not all the time only when i pull in somewhere or when i pull out it last for about 5 seconds and then goes away what is it. and let me see i may have another one oh yeah my windows which are automatic (push button) and they seem like they are real slow going up and sometimes going down what should i do other than that my car sounds good and i had it hooked up to a computer before i bought it and nothing was wrong and i had it hooked up again about 2 months ago and nothing was wrong.  but you never know im just curious of what is wrong. i get my oil changed and my fluids check every service time so im trying to do good for my car and it is a damn good car and it looks good and it may have alot of miles but they are 95% highway miles.  so please help.

Answer
Krystina,
Let's see if I can answer your questions in the order you asked.
First the question about the film on the headlights.  If the film is on the outside of the light, there should be a cleaner you can find to remove it.  If good old soap and warm water doesn't help, you can try to use a Bug & Tar Remover that you can get at any auto parts stores.  Just be sure not to use anything to clean it that may scratch the light.

Second, if your headlight is not coming on as it should, it may be a sign that the bulb is about to give out, or that possibly your headlight relay needs to be replaced.  The relay is located in your fuse box under yout hood.  With 111,000 miles on the car, it's not a bad idea to replace your headlight bulbs on both sides of your car.

Third, your sunroof may be a simple fix, or very complex.  The track may be slightly bent or the sunroof could be off center a bit, which could cause a jump.  But if it still opens and closes completely, I think you'll be ok.

Fourth, that smell is probably something coming from the engine.  It may be a fluid dripping on a hot engine part, burning, then entering the cabin.  It's also possible your car's computer may have a leaky capacitor, and that can cause a strong smell.  If it gets very bad, and you start to smell it continuously while driving, you should have that checked out by a mechanic.

Fifth, when your power windows go up and down slowly, that can mean they are slighly off center from the track.  You may just need to grease the sides of the window to make it glide quicker.  In order to grease it up the best, you would have to remove window from the door and grease it.  But you may be able to think of another way without removing the entire window.

Your issues seem more like annoyances than actual problems.  As long as you keep up the regular maintainance as you have been doing, your car should last another 100,000 miles at least.
Good luck!
