Mitsubishi Repair: Lights and SRS on Carisma, carisma gdi, car mitsubishi

Question
Hi,

I have an Mitsu Carisma GDI -98, The lights behind my controll panel seems to be out of order, so now I wonder if there is a book or something I can get to see how to change them, is it hard to do by your self?

Then my SRS light have started to shine, without that I have done anything, It was just shining one day when I turned on the car, do you know why, is this a common problem? How do I fix it?

Answer
Per,
I'm afraid I do not have much knowledge of the Carisma.  That was not a model sold in the United States, so I have very little first hand information available for it.  A service manual for any Mitsubishi can be ordered from your local dealership.

Depending on the age or mileage on your car, Mitsubishi may have the SRS light to come on automatically.  When the light comes on, that usually triggers the owner to take the car in to have it inspected.  Most airbag systems should be inspected every 10 years or 160,000 kilometers.  So if your SRS light comes on and stays on when you start your car, that can indicate a problem with airbag system, and you should have that checked out as soon as possible.
Good luck!
