Mitsubishi Repair: door panel - locking assembly, mitsubishi eclipse spyder, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
97 mitsubishi eclipse spyder, base model.
Hi Anthony..the drivers side window/lock controls have dropped below the holes in the plastic housing...i can still operate the door lock/window lock feature, but the window controls are below the holes and i cant use them. Is there something simple i can do here? (I notice a screw below the buttons, presumably to remove the plastic, but havent done it yet..)
Thanks!!
Greg

Answer
Greg,
You may have to remove the door panel to gain access to the buttons and place them back where they should be.  It's really not as bad as it seems.  There are a few screws holding the panel on (a few near the door hinge - top & bottom - and probably a couple more by the switches as well).  Then, the top of the panel is secured by clips that hook on near the window.  Just remove the screws and lift the panel out.  Your switch panel bracket may have broke or a small bolt may have come loose, which caused your controls to fall below the holes.  They would just need to be re-attached.

If you're not comfortable trying this yourself, any mechanic should be able to perform this procedure at minimal cost.  Just them specifically to simply reattach the controls.  The less you tell them to do, the less they will charge you.
Good luck!
