Mitsubishi Repair: 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, mitsubishi eclipse, dash lights

Question
I just purchased a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Manual 2.0L about 2 weeks ago. I hadn't had any problems until yesterday. I was driving down the highway going about 55mph when the car suddenly went dead and all the lights came on (check engine, battery, etc.). There was no warning. I had to coast to the side of the road. I tried to start the car back up. The car will crank but will not achieve ignition. What could be the problem? Thank you.

Answer
Michelle,
This can be caused by a malfunctioning alternator or blown alternator fuse.  When all your dash lights come on like that, that typically indicates an ignition problem.  Have your alternator and fuses checked and replaced if necessary.
Good luck!
