Mitsubishi Repair: 94 3000gt 5spd, shifter move, throwout bearing

Question
I have a 94 3000gt wich has recently begun to pop out of 5th gear. it does not happen in any other gear. during accel or decel you can actually see the shifter move until finally it kicks out of gear. is there an adjustment to the linkage or cable that would cause the car to not completely enter  5th allowing this problem or is it most likely a transmision physical failure . any help would be appreciated

Answer
Hi Chris

I usually don't answer  questions about the 3000GT but i know about this problem your having and ran into a few of those myself for others .
For starters your linkage needs replacing to correct this problem and i would recommend you replacing the throwout bearing in your transmission which will require to remove it and replace that part which helps you time and money in the future that helps prevent clutch grinding and slipping.
