Mitsubishi Repair: Dash/Taillights not working, amp fuse, eclipse gs

Question
I have a 95 Eclipse GS.  The dash lights and tail lights will not come on.  I checked the fuses and bulbs and all was ok.  What are some other things I should look at?  I just installed a cd player, could that somhow be associated with my problem?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Trace,
Your factory stereo harness shares the same fuse as most of your other lights (including dash and tail lights).  It's a simple 10 amp fuse located under your steering column, I believe.  If you bought a wiring harness for the new stereo/CD player you installed, check to make sure it's properly grounded.  A poor ground can cause your tail light and interior lights to fail, even if the fuse does not blow.  If you have a voltmeter and know how to use it, this would be a good time to test your fuses and electrical connections.
Good luck!
