Mitsubishi Repair: at 2000 rpm car chokes when I step on it., full tank, mirages

Question
I know your expertise is in Mirages but all Eclipse experts are maxed out. Not a good sign. I have a 98 eclipse 2.0 manual trans.
Perhaps you can help a little. When I step on the gas my car seems to choke. At high speeds it is ok.
It only happens when I want to accelerate from a stop
or at medium speed.

I'll try to help you with your car

I once had that same problem then realized after i took off the fuel filter and looked inside it was pretty clogged up and not sending enough fuel during takeoff's to stop this problem.I replaced it and got some fuel injection cleaner on a full tank of gas and it cured the problem,Try that and see if that helps any
