Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi Galant, mitsubishi galant, pep boys

Question
Tim,
I own a 2000 galant with 92,500 miles.  In the last 25 days,  my 'check engine' light has come on 4 times. I've recently replaced my timing belt, had a tune-up, replaced my distributor cap & rotor, changed my coolant and even replaced my gas cap. I take very good car of my car and the light has never come on. Since i've done all this work, the light continues to come on.  With each visit to Pep Boys, they run a diagnostic and it comes up as a 'mutliple misfire'.  I'm at my wits end, being that i've spent about $1800 on the car in the last 25 days. The light just came on today after i got gas...i am no mechanic, but do you think it may be my fuel pump or bad 02 Sensor?

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Maritza

I dont think it's your fuel pump or you would know it ,90% of the time they have alot to do with the 02 sensors so you're right on that part the tricky part is which sensor is bad?You have at least 4 i know of to test and a diagnois won't always pick that up unless you know someone that can tweak it and pick up eveything wrong with your car.
