Mitsubishi Repair: 2002 Mitsubishi Diamonte - Horn will not work, mitsubishi diamonte, fuse box

Question
Hello Tim:

My fiancee juut bought a used, 2002 Mitsubishi Diamonte, and the horn does not work.

My troubleshooting efforts thus far have included:

1) Checked 10 amp horn fuse under dash - It ok.

2) Switched the two wires connected to the horn  from one terminal to the next; (in case they were backwards) - Horn still does not work.

3) Removed horn, attached a wire to each hollow terminal, and then connected it to battery - Horn sounded.

4) Removed horn relay switch, under the hood, and replaced it with the relay switch right next to it which had exact same codes on it - Horn did not work.

5) NOTE:
When I press on the steering wheel, inside the car, to sound the horn, the horn does not work. However, each time I do it, I hear a click-like sound coming form the area of the relay switches.

Could the problem be under the steering wheel? What else can I check? (I am not a mechanic) to troubleshoot the horn not working?

Thank you in advance for any insights you may provide.

Regards,

Jim

Answer
Hi Jim,

I onced had serviced a car like that who had the same problem before i realized what is the main source of the problem. You mentioned a clicking sound when you pressed on the steering wheel to sound the horn,Usually when you get that and tried everything you mentioned and it worked there is some wires crossed or need replacing inside the steering column which will require to remove the casing to fix this problem.Or you could do i have seen some lazy people do is rig it to the fuse box and that would work but it blow the fuse quicker.
