Mitsubishi Repair: Mounts, mitsubishi eclipse gs, mitsubishi eclipse

Hi, how are you. i have a 95 mitsubishi eclipse gs non turbo. 2.0 dohc. I was told recently that my motor mounts needed to be replaced since my engine moves up and down a lot and also i had my timing belt and water pump replaced recently and when i got my car back i keep hearing a popping sound on that side. I was told by the mechanic that the sound is coming coz i have a broken mount there and i need to replace that. I was wondering what kind of mount goes on the top left side in a eclipse and how many mounts are there in that car. Thanx

As far as i know of that year of your car it only has 1 mount which is mounted on the bottom all the way across the crossmember and between the engine and transmission. If your engine is moving up and down like that then it does need replacing to stop that annoying popping noise you're hearing.If yours have a mount on top then it must be customized because i haven't seen any on top unless it's for a performance part but still shouldn't have anything to do with that. If you have any more problems on that come back to me and i'll help you get past this problem...
