Question
Automatic.4 cylinder...the car severly hesitates after it sits for about an hour, after it has been driven. If you give it more gas it goes fine, but the initial take off hesitates and bogs down like it is going to stall..please help...thanks

Answer
Frank,
It sounds as if you may have a problem with your fuel system.  Your fuel pump may be malfunctioning, your fuel filter could be clogged, or there may be a problem with you evaporation canister (also referred to as the charcoal canister).  The canister traps and hold gasoline vapors from the gas tank until the engine can safely burn them.  Many times, if you continuos overfill your gas tank (not stop fueling your car after the nozzle has clicked off) the canistor can fill with gasoline instead of just the vapors as it is intended.  This is usually a problem on hot days.  If that happens, excess vapor can enter into your engine causing it to hesitate or stall.  This is a form of vapor lock.  Your local mechanic will be able to check for this, and fix your problem.
Good luck!
