Radio picking up what seems to be the spark plug firing. Interference sounds like it is in time wi
th plugs firing. Please advise...

It's not uncommon for the spark plug wires to emit intense RF interference.  Your spark plug wires get extremely hot due to the surrounding engine components.  Over time, the heat can slowly deteorate the RF protective jacket around the wires.  When the jacket wears enough, you can start to hear a static "tapping" when listening to your radio.  If you've had the current spark plug wires on your car for more than 30,000 miles, it's time to replace them anyway.  Replace the spark plugs as well.
