Mitsubishi Repair: more ecu, best bet, ecus

1990 galant 2.0 sohc -5 manual -  scratch my last question - found the ecu - found burnt surface mount cap c-27 - anywhere to find info on these ecu's - comp values or schematics - there are those who are rebuilding these so there must be some info somewhere? - is it typically the electrylitics that go bad or are there other common comp failures?- ( such as my sm cap) - thank you

Schematics for this are really hard to find.  The factory service manual is your best bet, but still it would be vague.  The caps that normally go bad are the large ones.  I've only replaced them for Eclipse ECUs, but I'd bet the Galant ones for your year are similar.  I have not heard of any other caps or other components going bad.  There is a place that offers repairs and replacements of your ECU.
