Mitsubishi Repair: 95 Eclipse 2.0l GS manual, internal engine components, camshafts

Question
Going down the road the timing belt broke.  Does this damage the cylinder head.

Answer
Rob,
Yes, if your timing belt broke, the camshafts would not be able to move the valves out of the way of the cylinder heads, and the valves would get all banged up.  If your RPMs were high enough, you can also cause damage to several other internal engine components; including the pistons themselves.  That would require a new or rebuilt engine head.
