Mitsubishi Repair: Brake ligths, mitsubishi galant, ligths

Question
Mitsubishi Galant 96.
Brake ligths stay on while driving.
Can you help me solve this problem ?
Thanks.

Answer
Mike,
You may have a stuck brake relay or a stuck parking light relay.  Both relays can cause your rear lights to come on.

Your Galant has three brake lights.  Two at the rear corners, and one high brake light.  If that high brake light stays on, it's most likely your brake relay.  If that high brake light is not on, then it's most likely your parking light relay.

Also, make sure your brake pedal is fully depressed (i.e. its not pushed in at all).  Some times if the brake pedal has too much play or "slack" in it, it will trigger the brake lights to come on.  You may need to have it adjusted by a mechanic if it gets pressed to the floor by itself.
Good luck!
